Bamfield Lodge Nursing Care Home in Whitchurch, Bristol is recognised by the industry regulator as a 3 star ‘excellent’ rated care home and by the local community for its dedicated and consistently excellent care work, especially with regard to its specialist dementia facilities. Our dementia education programme, Connect, helps families understand the needs of dementia sufferers and is free to all our families.

Opened in late 2007, this nursing care home offers nursing, residential and dementia care and is fast developing a reputation locally for its palliative, end of life care. The care home is working hard towards achieving the prestigious Liverpool Care Pathways accreditation is this area.

Bamfield Lodge has 60 generously sized rooms all with en-suites walk-in shower facilities and flat screen TV’s. Downstairs rooms open out onto our lovely secure garden with its patio areas and chairs and our lounges and dining areas are light and airy. These too, open out onto our garden and our quiet rooms are a haven of relaxation whenever residents choose some privacy.

THE CARE

Daily activities are provided by a dedicated recreation co-ordinator and the varied nature of the programme ensures there is something for everyone. We try to involve the local community in the life of the home as much as possible and day trips are sometimes organised around the Bristol area. Our dining is recognised for its excellence, our kitchens were recently awarded 5 stars for the second year running by our local authority.
