DESCRIPTION
The Berkshire is a former private residence which has been carefully converted and extended to become a care home, providing nursing and social care in a selection of differing rooms.
All of our rooms are for single occupancy, although there are several large enough for sharing companions. The majority have private toilet facilities.
The Berkshire is situated on the outskirts of Wokingham, within easy reach of shops and other amenities, public transport and the M4 motorway. Specifically, the Wokingham shopping centre is only 1/2 mile away.
THE CARE
The Berkshire has TV lounges and several quiet sitting rooms. A separate dining room, where residents can join the company of others at meal times is also an important feature of the home.
Our Chef prepares a wide range of home cooked food based upon traditional cooking using fresh produce. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available.
The home is attended by an experienced hair stylist, a qualified chiropodist, and a range of complementary therapies can be arranged to suit individual requirements.
A varied programme of activities also takes place in the home for the benefit of residents.
DIRECTIONS
To find the Berkshire, leave the M4 at junction 10 and take the A329 to Wokingham. Follow the one way system and the signs for the railway station. Go past the station and the hospital on the Barkham Road (B3349) and The Berkshire is on the left.
