Wealstone is situated in the Upton area of Chester and is a single storey home, laid out around an attractive courtyard area. A friendly and experienced team work at the home, working hard to ensure residents enjoy a high quality of life and wellbeing. The home has recently opened a specialist 11-bed household, providing advanced support for older people with dementia.

There are three lounge areas around the building. One of these is fitted with a hearing loop, a discreet device to improve sound reception and aid those with hearing difficulties. There is an activities room and a computer room for the use of residents. There is a large dining room for people to dine and socialise, but if preferred there are smaller dining areas to choose from. Residents can also choose to eat in their own room. There are pleasant gardens to relax in, which can be easily accessed by those residents requiring the use of a wheelchair. A large courtyard provides very pleasant seating areas which can be enjoyed by everyone. In this area, there are two raised flower beds, a sensory herb bed and a large pagoda.

For all residents, detailed care plans are developed in conjunction with the resident and in many cases their family. Plans are based on a recognised model of care and have been developed by registered nurses and professionals both within CLS and from external agencies.

Care plans are reviewed at least once a month and include an assessment of residents’ needs, details of what support is needed from other professionals, risk assessments over a number of areas and a number of other aspects that impact on a resident’s care.

The care plans are also designed to make it simple for you to access a clear and accurate history of care and activities provided should you need or wish to.

All CLS homes are staffed by a dedicated and professionally trained workforce. CLS operates a nationally approved training scheme that is unrivalled in the care sector, and is an accredited Investor in People. Every year, around a hundred employees achieve NVQs and specialist training as part of their personal development plans.
