DESCRIPTION
Four Seasons Health Care is the leading independent healthcare provider in the UK. They own and operate over 500 care homes, nursing homes and specialist centres across the UK, with approximately 306 homes in England and the Channel Islands, 62 in Scotland, 74 in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man and 7 in Wales. They employ over 30,000 people and care for over 25,000 people in their care.
Each of the care homes or nursing homes run by Four Seasons Health Care is unique and offers high standards of service and care for long term and short term residents. Every home seeks to provide a safe, homely and warm environment for its residents. Almost nine out of every ten of their homes are rated as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ by the industry regulater The Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Hallgarth is a warm and welcoming, purpose-built residential and nursing home set in the heart of the historic city of Durham.
Set in a quiet residential area and only a short walk to the city centre, our care home is ideally located and prides itself on being an established part of the local community. Every member of our team works hard to make sure each resident is comfortable and well cared-for. Our highly-trained care team also provide specialist end of life care at a time when residents and their families need additional help and support and short term respite care is available.
Whether residents prefer to relax or join in with our daily programme of activities, our staff are always here to help them feel at home.
We have a range of different styles of room, in keeping with the character of the home. All are warm, bright and comfortable and residents are welcome to bring their own furniture to personalise their room. In addition to our standard rooms we have five large cathedral suites with en suite wet rooms, elegant décor, flat screen televisions and patio doors onto the garden.
There are several comfortable lounges around the home as well as a number of areas where residents can pursue their hobbies or simply relax. We also have our own large bar which is a great place to socialise or invite friends and family when they visit.
THE CARE
Hallgarth has a busy activities programme and there is something to suit every taste. Our Activities Co-ordinator organises both group and one-to-one activities and our residents get very involved in planning new activities, events and trips. Many of our residents find the one-to-one time with staff particularly calming and rewarding and we help residents continue their hobbies and take up new pastimes. All activities are completely optional - there’s no pressure to join in.
Popular pastimes include arts and crafts, quizzes and musical events.
Our delicious home-cooked meals are freshly prepared by our award winning in-house chef and served by our silver service team in one of our three restaurant-style dining rooms. Our menus provide a varied choice for every meal and we cater for all dietary and cultural needs as well as personal preference.
