DESCRIPTION

Branthwaite Care Home was originally built as a private independant hospital and has been refurbished to offer a high level of spacious accomodation. The original building has 39 rooms of which all have en-suite facilities and some offer bathing facilities. It has three communal areas and two large conservatories that open out onto large patios and enclosed gardens with views onto open fields and farming land.

The new purpose built building offers further accomodation for 18 residents. Each room has ensuite facilities and all bedrooms exceed the National Minimum room sizes. It has two dining rooms, three large airy lounges and a large conservatory leading to an enclosed court yard where there are benches and chairs for use by the residents and their families.

Branthwaite is approximately 1 mile from the town of Workington and 5 miles from the Harbour town of Whitehaven. It has stunning views across the Solway Firth and Scotland and is set in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of town life.

The Home offers care to people with memory impairement and these residents are cared for by a well trained staff team which is lead by a Registered Mental Health nurse.

Branthwaite has its own coffee shop area and hairdressing room that is used by residents on a day to day basis. The home offers a wide range of activities that are geared to the needs of the people living there and the home also has the use of the Company mini bus to take residents on excursions to the local places of interest.
