Ashcroft is a purpose built home, within which we provide our Pearl Specialised Dementia Service.

Many of our rooms are for single occupancy and some are for sharing companions. Some rooms are en-suite and we also have premier rooms.

Ashcroft is situated in the Hady suburb of Chesterfield, within easy reach of a Post Office and other amenities, public transport and the M1 motorway. Specifically, Chesterfield town centre is approximately 1/2 mile away.

This home is rated by the Commission for Social Care Inspection as providing ''good'' outcomes for its residents.

Dementia care is provided within out Pearl Specialised Dementia Service. This means that the environment has been developed and adapted to the needs of residents with dementia and we can offer as much independence and stimulation as possible within safe boundaries.

The expertise of our caring team is to recognise and enable each resident to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as they can continue to do so. Our programme is based on the theories of ''person centred care'' and all of our care plans are tailored around the residents'' needs and capabilities. These are adjusted to provide additional support over time.

Every aspect of the home contributes to the quality of daily life for residents. Layout and decoration are used to enable residents to exercise choice, help orientation and to provide interest and stimulation. For example, the sights and sounds of the music and themed corridors and sensory room, as well as rummage boxes and relevant activities. These features act as cues for the person with dementia to guide and support them as they move around their home.

Ashcroft is tastefully decorated and features a lounge and dining area, where residents can enjoy the company of others at meal times.

Our Chef prepares a wide range of home cooked food based upon traditional cooking using fresh produce. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available.

The home is attended by an experienced hair stylist, a qualified chiropodist and a range of complementary therapies can be arranged to suit individual requirements.

A varied programme of activities also takes place in the home and we have a highly skilled activities therapist.

Take junction 29 off the M1 and head towards Chesterfield on the A617.
