Making the right choice is essential when selecting a home and there are many factors to consider. What is important is for you to feel ‘at home’ in comfortable surroundings and to be confident in the professionally structured care.

You will have your own spacious suite with en-suite facilities and we will do everything possible to make sure you feel happy and relaxed. Often we feel most at ease with our personal belongings around us, so we invite you to bring small items of furniture, ornaments, pictures, photographs and special mementos to make it your home.

The team of staff at Amber Wood have much experience in understanding the needs of the residents in our care and on arrival at Amber Wood we will introduce you to our team who will assist you whilst you settle in. You are welcome to hold a house-warming tea party and invite family and friends to see your new home.

Amber Wood offers a range of services for long and short stays and we are able to meet your changing needs as they arise, giving you peace of mind.

Amber Wood offers top-quality Dementia, Alzheimer’s or EMI (sometimes still referred to as elderly mental infirm) care in purpose-built homes staffed by professionally qualified dementia nurses and carers.

Our Dementia care is absolutely focused on the needs of our individual residents. We are there every step of the way, and place great importance on understanding personal likes and dislikes. Each resident receives an expert consultation to determine their needs, and a personal care plan is drawn up to include not only care and nutritional needs but wider preferences too.

We encourage all our residents to share their life stories with us, we find it strengthens bonds, forms friendships and for those with dementia, helps manage their condition through reminiscence. Over the years we have learnt some amazing facts about each other.

We always seek to involve family and relatives in the life of our homes. Our comprehensive activities programme is central to our daily routines and designed with therapeutic outcomes in mind. We have recently purchase minibuses to support our activities programme and we like to get out as much as we can.
