Welcome to The Rookery Care Home, our friendly Home surrounded by trees within the quiet residential area of Ebbw Vale, where we provide a high standard of care 24 hours a day. Our Residents have varying needs from specialist support and help with everyday living to those who just need a helping hand to retain some independence.

We offer Residential care as well as specialist care for those with Dementia.

All our private bedrooms are tastefully decorated and many have en-suite facilities. There is so much more that we can tell you than we can include on these pages so please arrange to pop in for a chat. We would be delighted to show you around.

Our Residents enjoy the tranquillity of our communal and quiet lounges, where they can pursue their hobbies. They also enjoy our landscaped garden, patio and conservatories. These areas are used for relaxing, socialising and are great places to invite friends and families when they visit.

Our activities programme is tailored to our Residents’ preferences and includes arts and crafts, quizzes and gardening. Our mini bus is used for regular trips to restaurants, museums and occasionally, the theatre. The Home provides a regular church service which is open to any Residents and their families and friends who wish to attend. We invite professional entertainers to visit regularly and we are also treated to performances by the local school children and the wider community.

We support the UK National Dementia Strategy which ensures that key life skills are maintained, building purpose and providing nurture for Residents with Dementia. We organise group and individual activities but in our experience it is the one-to-one sessions that our Residents find most calming and rewarding.

We have highly nutritious and varied menus and cater for all dietary and cultural needs. All of our food is prepared using fresh ingredients every day in our kitchens. Our dining rooms are warm and welcoming. The tables are laid with fresh flowers and linen and our menus are displayed to show the choices available. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are provided 24 hours a day.

Residents can choose to have their meals in their own room or in our dining room depending on how they feel. We encourage friends and family to join us for meals or afternoon tea anytime.

We have themed meals including food and wine from around the world. We also enjoy catering for special celebrations for our Residents such as birthdays and anniversaries.
