DESCRIPTION
Borovere is a comfortable and attractive Home for the older person. The Home is situated near the town centre in varied and very pleasant grounds. Alton is a market town which has regular hourly train services to London; there are good local amenities available too.
Borovere has twenty-eight bedrooms, of which twenty are new and two are suitable for couples. Almost all the rooms have telephone sockets and T.V points. The building has been well furnished and equipped to give the best possible care. You will be immediately impressed with the friendly and informal atmosphere when you first visit this home. Residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture and ornaments for their room.
The communal areas in the Home are spacious and there are dining and hobbies rooms, large and small sitting rooms. All have windows giving different views of of the gardens and grounds. Regular activities are encouraged, also social events and group outings are planned each month. There is a lift to all floors and a call-bell system throughout the building.
The Home is in the ge of our Home Manager, who is a registered nurse, and she is supported by a strong team of care staff. They ensure that each person is given the very best standard of care around the clock. Residents are treated with kindness and understanding and are encouraged to lead as full and independent a life as possible. The Catering Manager and her team offer good choices in food, menus are varied regularly and include seasonal favorites. The Home can cater for special and medical diets.
THE CARE
Our philosophy of care
Each Greensleeves home is unique, with settings ranging from a listed Georgian country house, to a modern purpose-built home in a London suburb. What is standard to all the homes, however, is a commitment to offer high quality care for older people in comfortable and affordable accommodation. We aim to take account of individual needs, to respect residents' rights, dignity and privacy and to give them the maximum opportunity to exercise personal autonomy and choice.
Greensleeves homes are registered under the Care Standards Act 2000 for the provision of personal care only. We are able to offer prolonged care for those with a variety of conditions providing that specialised nursing care is not required.
Before you move into one of our homes, therefore, we carry out a full assessment of your health, personal and social needs with you. This helps to decide whether a Greensleeves home will be right for you, and provides the basis for your plan of care when you move in.
