Buckingham Lodge is a purpose built care home providing a friendly and supportive environment for older people requiring general or dementia nursing care. The home is situated in the bustling market town of Watton, a few miles south of Norwich and is easily accessible from the A11, A47 and is on the main bus route from Norwich.

Designed specifically to meet the needs of older people requiring general and dementia nursing care, Buckingham Lodge provides a modern and supportive environment with 70 single en-suite bedrooms with shower facilities arranged over two floors.

At Buckingham Lodge we understand that choosing a care home for yourself, a loved one, or someone in your care can be a difficult and sometimes a daunting experience. We offer an open and friendly atmosphere and our home manager would welcome any questions you may have about our home and the types of care we provide. Visitors are welcome anytime during the day. We believe in high quality, individual care delivered by dedicated and appropriately trained staff. We encourage our residents to be as active, and to retain as much of their independence, as possible. Our focus at Buckingham Lodge is to maximise the potential of the individual at any stage of their life enabling them to focus on their abilities.

An individual with dementia has difficulty with memory, concentration and logic challenges and can often find it hard to communicate what they need and how they feel. Subsequently, they can often become frustrated and have intense feelings surrounding their confusion over life experiences. At Buckingham Lodge we encourage involvement with families and friends to ensure relevant personal items are used to stimulate reminiscence and promote conversation. This person-centred approach allows us to see the resident as a whole person, by maintaining the individuality of each resident living with dementia. We also use dementia care mapping and the latest research to assist in developing an individualised care plan.
