DESCRIPTION

Welcome to The Crown Care Home, our cosy Home located at the heart of Harwell village, where we provide a high standard of care 24 hours a day. The building was once a public house, hence its name. Our Residents have varying needs from specialist Nursing support to general assistance with everyday living. Some stay with us on a permanent basis whilst others stay for short periods of time.

We offer Nursing care as well as Respite care to give home carers a much needed break.

We are very proud of our homely and welcoming atmosphere. We would be delighted to show you around so that you can experience it for yourself.

Our Residents can pursue their hobbies in our communal and quiet lounges. We have a secluded garden with flower and vegetable patches and a patio which is popular in the summer. These areas are used for relaxing, socialising and are great places to invite friends and families when they visit.

THE CARE

Our Residents get very involved in planning our programme of events along with our Activities Co-ordinator. These include arts and crafts, baking and gentle gardening as well as quizzes and reminiscence activities. We encourage a mix of individual and group activities. We use our minibus for outings to local attractions and invite professional entertainers to visit regularly. We are also treated to performances by the local school children and the wider community.

We have highly nutritious and varied menus and cater for all dietary and cultural needs. All of our food is prepared using fresh ingredients every day in our kitchens. Our dining rooms are warm and welcoming. The tables are laid with fresh flowers and linen and our menus are displayed to show the choices available. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are provided 24 hours a day.

Residents can choose to have their meals in their own room or in our dining room depending on how they feel. We encourage friends and family to join us for meals or afternoon tea anytime.

Our Sunday lunch is particularly popular with Residents and their families.
