Cherry Orchard care home is situated in a quiet residential area of Clevedon within attractive, private grounds with the town centre and its amenities within walking distance. The home provides comfortable and homely accommodation for 36 residents in single bedrooms arranged over two floors.

There are several lounges and quiet areas as well as a large dining area where relatives and friends can meet. The home is recognised as a well-established residential unit for older people and has access to Shaw’s own specialist senior team.

Our central philosophy is to see beyond the aging process, recognise the wider needs of each individual and to provide support to allow people to remain as independent as possible. We consider it important that residents and their families are able to actively contribute towards the planning of their care and always ensure that they are able to do so.

Moving into residential or nursing care can be a difficult decision but is often necessary for older people who can no longer manage on their own or with the help of relatives, friends or other carers. But in Shaw care homes our friendly professional staff are trained to make the transition hassle free and ensure that independence and the key components of daily living are maintained as much as possible. We aim to provide you with choices - over your personal care, what and when you eat, whether you want some peace and quiet or to join in a range of social activities. All this is provided in homely and comfortable surroundings - and with your own private bedroom.

There are two types of care home, those which provide personal care only and those which also provide nursing care.

All homes provide meals, laundry service and personal care such as help with washing, dressing, general mobility and day-to-day tasks. Nursing homes provide all of these services but additionally they employ registered, trained nurses who are able to provide health-related care. Government assistance with the cost of this nursing care is available to everyone and is not means-tested.
