DESCRIPTION

The Hollies is a purpose built care home, providing nursing and social care in a selection of differing rooms. All our rooms are for single occupancy, although several are large enough for sharing companions. The Hollies is situated in a rural setting just outside Winlaton, within easy reach of shops and other amenities, public transport and the Western Bypass, A1(M). Specifically, the Metro Centre is only 2 miles away.

THE CARE

The Hollies has TV lounges and a quiet sitting room (with both smoking and non-smoking areas). Separate dining rooms, where residents can join the company of others at meal times, are also an important feature of the home.

Our Chef prepares a wide range of home cooked food based upon traditional cooking using fresh produce. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available. Meals are served to suit the convenience of residents and can be served in the privacy of bedrooms or at the table in our dining rooms. The entertainment of guests and arrangement of small private parties attracts a small extra charge.

The home is attended by an experienced hair stylist, a qualified chiropodist and a range of complementary therapies can be arranged to suit individual requirement. All the laundry for our residents is undertaken by the home.

A varied programme of activities also takes place in the home for the benefit of residents.

Visitors are welcome at any time and in addition all our facilities are extended to close family and friends.

DIRECTIONS

From the A1, take the Swalwell exit, and turn right towards Blaydon. Continue past the swimming baths and turn left onto Shibdon Bank. At the top of the hill, turn left and then left again at next junction. Turn right past the school, continue down the hill and turn left. The home is on your left. From Winlaton, there are signs for Pinewoods.
