Derwent Care Home is a purpose built 44 bed care home situated in the rural area of the Derwent Valley, nestling between two rural churches off the edge of the village of Hamsterley. The home is situated close to shops and other local amenities.

Derwent offers facilities over three floors and each floor has its own dining and lounge areas. It has a very large airy conservatory overlooking the Derwent valley and this leads onto an open balcony area which can be accessed by the residents and their visitors.

Derwent care home is registered for residential and dementia care and the home prides itself on offering a high standard delivery of care with a rating of excellent from the Care Quality Commission.

The home has a coffee shop and hairdressing room that is used by residents on a day to day basis.
