DESCRIPTION

Walker Lodge is a purpose built care home, providing nursing and social care for the frail elderly and the mentally infirm elderly, in a selection of differing rooms.

All of our rooms are for single occupancy and all are en-suite.

Walker Lodge is situated in the east end of Newcastle, within easy reach of shops, other amenities and public transport. Specifically, Eldon Square shopping centre is only 20 minutes away and the Gateshead Metro Centre is 35 minutes away.

THE CARE

Walker Lodge has TV lounges and a quiet sitting room (with both smoking and non-smoking areas). Separate dining rooms, where residents can join the company of others at meal times, are also an important feature of the home.

Our Chef prepares a wide range of home cooked food based upon traditional cooking using fresh produce. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available.

The home is attended by an experienced hair stylist, a qualified chiropodist and a dentist. A range of complementary therapies can be arranged to suit individual requirement.

A varied programme of activities also takes place in the home for the benefit of residents.

DIRECTIONS

From the A1(M) heading North, take the Gateshead turn towards Newcastle city centre. Across the Tyne Bridge turn 1st left and take the 4th exit off the roundabout. Continue towards Walker on the A186. Once in Walker, follow Walker Road towards Wallsend. Turn left onto St. Anthony''s Road and 2nd right onto Wharrier Street, Walker Lodge is on the right.
