Review Platforms Open V’s Closed?

You should by now know that Yourcarehome.co.uk have partnered with Reevoo the world leading social commerce review platform.

I have spend a lot of time explaining the main difference between Reevoo and other review solutions being simply that Reevoo’s system is ‘closed’ meaning that only confirmed customers can leave a review, this of course is a very important feature which stops people from gaming the system.

However, all the other websites and review platforms out there are ‘open’ systems with possibly a couple of not very watertight exceptions.

The NHS currently have a review function on their website, it’s an ‘open’ system meaning anyone can visit the NHS website and leave a review for a Doctors a Dentist or even a Hospital. The review is submitted to the NHS who moderate the review and if they are happy that it is genuine it will be posted on their website.

It’s all about the moderation process. If we can be sure that there is a quality moderation process installed which can cope with the volumes of reviews being submitted then there’s less of a problem, and if the people running that moderation process can be trusted to only remove the spammy reviews and leave in all the genuine reviews no matter how negative then there is still a benefit to the public.

So there’s not too much wrong with an open review system provided it’s a quality system which is not abused and is run by people who believe that quality must come first.
