Hesslewood Care Home is set in extensive grounds in the village of Hessle where we provide a high standard of care 24 hours a day. We offer Residential and Nursing care as well as Residential care for those with Dementia. We provide Respite care to give home carers a much needed break and End of Life care at a time when Residents and their families need specialist help and support. We also offer specialist care for younger people with Learning or Physical disabilities. All of our private single and double bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all are decorated to a high standard with some having excellent views of the Humber Bridge. Our Residents enjoy the tranquillity of our extensive grounds whilst watching the visiting foxes, squirrels and rabbits along with the resident peacocks. We have three units and each has its own light and spacious lounge. There are quiet seating areas and each unit has its own patio and sheltered seating areas which are used for relaxing and socialising and are great places to invite friends and families when they visit. There is a games room with a snooker table, computers and table tennis for our younger Residents.

Our Residents get very involved in planning our programme of events along with our Activities Co-ordinator. These include arts and crafts, baking and gentle gardening. We encourage a mix of individual and group activities. We use our minibus for outings to local attractions and our weekly shopping trips as well as visits to the races, theatre and local museums. We support the UK National Dementia Strategy which ensures that key life skills are maintained, building purpose and providing nurture for Residents with Dementia. We organise group and individual activities but in our experience it is the one-to-one sessions that our Residents find most calming and rewarding. Mealtimes are an enjoyable and sociable part of the day. Each one of our dining areas has tables laid with fresh flowers and linen and our menus are displayed to show the choices available. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are provided 24 hours a day. All of our food is prepared daily, using fresh ingredients, by our talented Chef. The menu has a wide selection and is changed regularly. Our afternoon teas and fresh home baking are particularly popular with Residents and their families.
