Description

Amongst care homes in Swindon we strive to offer a warm home from home ambiance. The clean, comfortable and high quality accommodation has a pleasant décor and provides all the amenities needed by 32 elderly people. The home has a family atmosphere due to the efforts made to ensure that the health and well-being of the residents come first.

The care home is staffed by a dedicated, professional, caring and well-trained team of managers and care workers. It provides permanent or respite care, and is run with a resolve to abide by all the latest rules and regulations.

As well as offering home comforts and 24 hour care for elderly people, the home also specializes in caring for older people with various degrees of dementia.

The care home, which is inspected by a government regulator, aims to meet or wherever possible to exceed the National Minimum Standards that cover all aspects of care, environment, staffing and management of the care home.

The Care

Any older people (including married couples or partners) who require help with daily living because of physical or mental incapacities may apply for a place at the home. Most of the residents are in their 80s or 90s. Priority is given to people who have been resident in Swindon (or who have relatives in the borough) because one of the home’s main aims is to help residents retain links with their family, friends and the community.

Every prospective new resident has a full assessment before admission to verify that the home can provide the care that is needed, including any specific cultural needs. A comprehensive care package is created after admission and this is updated regularly to ensure any changes in the care needs of the resident are properly met.

The home organises in-house entertainment (e.g.Singers & other musicians), special events (e.g. traditional fish’n’chips supper & seasonal parties) and occasional local outings (e.g. to the town, pub or garden centre).

Directions

Quarry Mount is located on the south side of the A4289 (Bath Road) a short distance west from the Wood Street shopping area in Old Town.
