The Laurels Care Home

Francis Way
Hetton-le-Hole
Houghton le Spring
Tyne and Wear
DH5 9EQ

The Laurels is a purpose built care home, providing nursing and social care in a selection of differing rooms.

All of our rooms are for single occupancy, although several are large enough for sharing companions. All rooms are en-suite.

The Laurels is situated just outside the centre of Hetton-le-Hole, within easy reach of shops and other amenities, public transport and the A19 and A1(M). Specifically, the town centre is only 1/2 mile away.

The Laurels has TV lounges, a quiet sitting room and an outdoor patio area. We have both smoking and non-smoking areas. A separate dining room, where residents can join the company of others at meal times, is also an important feature of the home.

Our Chef prepares a wide range of home cooked food based upon traditional cooking using fresh produce. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available.

The home is attended by an experienced hair stylist, a qualified chiropodist and a range of complementary therapies can be arranged to suit individual requirements.

A varied programme of activities also takes place in the home for the benefit of residents.

From the A19
Take A690 turn off signed Durham and follow signs for Hetton-le-Hole (A182). Approaching Hetton town centre turn left, opposite Bank, into Caroline Street. Take the first left just before the Caroline Public House. The home is about 500 yards on the right beside Hetton Medical Centre.

From the A1
Take A690 signed Sunderland. Pass Ramside Hotel on right and take next right signed Hetton-le-Hole. At the next T-junction turn right, then 1st left signed Hetton-le-Hole Town Centre. Turn left at roundabout, then 1st right into Caroline Street. Then as above.
