The Mews Care Home

Southburn Terrace
New Herrington
Houghton le Spring
Tyne and Wear
DH4 7AW

The Mews is a purpose built care home, providing nursing and social care in a selection of differing rooms.

All of our rooms are for single occupancy and several are large enough for sharing companions. All rooms are en-suite.

The Mews is situated in New Herrington, north of Houghton-le-Spring in Durham, within easy reach of shops and other amenities, public transport and the A1(M). Specifically, the local shopping centre is only + mile away.

The Mews has TV lounges and a quiet sitting room (with both smoking and non-smoking areas). Separate dining rooms, where residents can join the company of others at meal times, are also an important feature of the home.

Our Chef prepares a wide range of home cooked food based upon traditional cooking using fresh produce. Special diets are catered for and daily choices are available.

The home is attended by an experienced hair stylist, a qualified chiropodist and a range of complementary therapies can be arranged to suit individual requirements.

A varied programme of activities also takes place in the home for the benefit of residents.

From Sunderland, take the Durham Road, A690 from Sunderland. Turn right at the Board Inn Roundabout onto the B1286, over the bridge and you will come to the home on the left hand side.

From the West, leave the A19 at the A690 exit and follow the road up to the Board Inn roundabout. Turn left onto the B1286, over the bridge and you will come to the home on the left hand side.

From Washington, take the A182 until the roundabout with the B1286, turn onto this road and the home is on the right hand side.
