Elderly carers: how will the state cope when they are gone?

The Guardian takes a look at what happens when the elderly who are caring for their care-dependent children or relatives start to need care themselves. Costs of care for learning disablilities are spiralling for councils, yet older people with learning disabilities have not been included in many of the care policies, even though their carers are becoming more in need of elderly care themselves.
