43 Station Road is a lively service which provides support for six individuals with learning disabilities, who may also have autism spectrum disorders or mental health needs.

Each individual we support is actively involved in planning their own goals and choosing how to spend their time. Some of our most popular activities at present include horse riding, rambling in the acres of nearby countryside, seeing the latest cinema release and dancing the night away in a nearby night club. With two vehicles at the service, everyone is able to get out and about to do the things that are important to them.

We welcome involvement from family and friends, working together to support those individuals we support to be in control of their lives. The people living at Station Road are also encouraged to contribute to daily life within their home – from cooking meals to helping with housework, planning next week’s menu and deciding where to go on holiday this year.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and there is lots of communal space including a dedicated activity room. We also have a large rear garden – plenty of room for a game of football or a barbeque on a summer day!

Wraysbury is a small village located just 20 miles from London’s West End, and thus has a ‘best of both worlds’ feel. From quiet village life with local shops, amenities and a pub or two, we also benefit from being so close to the bright lights of London and all it has to offer.

One individual we support had been talking about entering competitions to show other people her craft skills. We supported her to identify an appropriate national competition to design and make a hand made soft toy. She chose a friend to join in with her on the project, and with support they worked away steadily, meeting the deadline and submitting their entry with confidence. We were all keen to attend the ‘judging day’ with her as she wanted to show everyone her efforts – and when the judging was over and she was named as the First Place Winner we were all very proud! What an achievement!
