Woodview House care home is situated on an exclusive residential development close to Halesowen town centre with its local amenities and public services. Purpose built in 1990 for the provision of care it comprises single room, ground floor accommodation. Woodview House offers the highest possible standards of care and support to older people in spacious, modern yet homely and safe surroundings. Our philosophy is to see beyond the illness recognising the wider needs of the individual and we consider it important that each resident and their family actively contribute towards the planning of care. The overall aim of the home is to meet the individual needs of every resident and we use a person centred approach to care in which every resident has a named carer and is offered high levels of support on an individual basis. Activities are an important part of life at Woodview House and our Therapists and care staff organise a wide range of things to do both inside and outside the home.

Moving into residential or nursing care can be a difficult decision but is often necessary for older people who can no longer manage on their own or with the help of relatives, friends or other carers. But in Shaw care homes our friendly professional staff are trained to make the transition hassle free and ensure that independence and the key components of daily living are maintained as much as possible. We aim to provide you with choices - over your personal care, what and when you eat, whether you want some peace and quiet or to join in a range of social activities. All this is provided in homely and comfortable surroundings - and with your own private bedroom. There are two types of care home, those which provide personal care only and those which also provide nursing care. All homes provide meals, laundry service and personal care such as help with washing, dressing, general mobility and day-to-day tasks. Nursing homes provide all of these services but additionally they employ registered, trained nurses who are able to provide health-related care. Government assistance with the cost of this nursing care is available to everyone and is not means-tested.
