Autistic spectrum disorders, Behavioural support, Learning disability, Mental health

At 45 Hall Green Road we provide support to seven individuals who have autistic spectrum disorders and acquired brain injuries and exhibit behaviours that challenge.

The service is located in the popular residential area of Stone Cross, five minutes’ drive from West Bromwich town centre. It is easily reached using public transport, such as buses, the metro and trains from Tame Bridge station, and is within walking distance of the local shops and amenities.

The service is close to a wide range of community leisure facilities, including Sandwell Nature Reserve, cinemas, bowling centres, sports facilities, Tame Valley Canal and The Public, which hosts many events.

We believe that challenges are a way of communicating and take a holistic approach to dealing with them. This includes the use of Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention and a wide range of communication tools, aids and systems. Each individual’s person centred plan details their communication needs and preferences, and staff are supported by a behavioural therapist, who works closely with them to equip them with the skills and knowledge they require.

45 Hall Green Road has been sensitively renovated to create a warm and welcoming environment which is responsive to the needs of people who challenge and has a low stimulus décor. The service has eight bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities with either a bath or a shower, depending on individual preference. We encourage people to bring their own belongings and choose how their room is decorated.

The communal areas include a large lounge with French windows leading to the garden, an activity room, a dining room and a large kitchen, where people are supported to prepare meals and snacks. We are currently developing a fully equipped sensory room.
