Seabreezes supports 6 people with learning disabilities, Autism and Epilepsy. We support and encourage people living at Seabreezes to make choices about all aspects of their lives, from the support they receive to the design of their bedroom. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Overview of Service

Seabreezes supports 6 people with learning disabilities, Autism and Epilepsy. Our dedicated staff team provide 24 hour support and the level of support is entirely dependent on individuals' needs.

All individuals are involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support those at Seabreezes to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about meeting them.

Seabreezes promotes Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to a voice at area, divisional and national level.

What it's Like to Live Here

People who live at Seabreezes have a weekly planner from which they can decide which activities they would like to do on a daily basis. The activities are varied and often change to reflect the choices of the person carrying out the activity.

Some individuals enjoy singing karaoke, arts and crafts sessions, playing bingo and cooking. Seabreezes is only 5 minutes away from the seaside and people often go for walks there and enjoy the scenery and sea air.

Some people enjoy cycling and using the computers. We also have a full sized pool table in our activity room, for individuals to have tournaments.

People who live at Seabreezes are supported to exercise and to get involved with cooking and gardening.

Surroundings

Seabreezes benefits from a fantastic location, being only 5 minutes away from the seaside. There is accessible public transport 2 minutes away from the service that enables people to access the bigger towns and railway stations. There, large department stores, restaurants, cinemas, bowling alleys and colleges can be accessed. Locally there are pubs, swimming pools, cafes and a day care centre. At the day care centre there are opportunities for people living at Seabreezes to meet people from other services.

Service Facilities

Seabreezes is a converted bungalow which has the facilities to support 6 people. Everyone is encouraged and supported to personalise their own bedrooms; 2 of the bedrooms are en-suite and the remainder have a WC and wash basin. There are 2 communal bathrooms, a large kitchen-diner and a lounge-diner. There is a day care room where the pool table is based.

The service has a large rear garden, which is perfect for having BBQs and relaxing. There are ramps at both the front and rear exits for people who have physical disabilities.
