Station Road provides quality support based on respect for individuals, their right to make choices, maintain dignity and receive the best care to suit individual needs. All accommodation is provided to people with mild to moderate learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

Overview of service

Station Road promotes Craegmoors' communication strategy called "Your Voice" which ensures that each individual, based on their preferred method of communication, is able to have a voice on how their supported care is provided. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of fellow individuals.

This is extended to a voice at area, divisional and national level. Station Road liaises with families, community organisations, social services departments and purchasing authorities to support Person Centred Care Planning and ensures full account is taken of social, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs of all individuals. Community Integration is sought through local 'New Connection events' held in local community halls and open to staff and individuals, their friends and families.

What it's like to live here

Our life skills coach organises a range of daily activities both in and out of the service that are planned in conjunction with the wishes of those who use our service. The individuals enjoy swimming, horse riding, bowling, trips to cinema, outings to pubs and shopping.

College courses are available and include music, art, communication, speech, cooking, relaxation, arts and crafts, dancing or gardening. Residents are encouraged to pursue and retain their own interests. One-to-one support is provided where required and all activities are arranged to meet the residents' individual needs.
