Lulworth House is a Residential Home designed to cater for the special needs of residents who have a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or any form of Dementia.

Lulworth House Residential Care Centre is situated in a highly desired area of Maidstone on a very leafy avenue with excellent transport links. The Home is circa 1920's and the front of the Home retains its original character. Much of the Home is purpose-built and designed to suit the needs of residents with Dementia.

The interior fixtures and fittings have encompassed much of the latest design in accordance with research carried out by The Sterling University "for people with Dementia". The aim is to balance the need for constructive stimulation against the need for a calming environment.

Our Home offers 38 single room and some have en-suite facilities. All rooms are comfortably furnished and equipped with a nurse-call system and telephone points can be arranged via the Home Manager, Teresa Franze. We actively encourage our families to work with us to make the residents' rooms a "home from home". This can be achieved by focusing the room around the residents most valued and treasured possessions, pictures, photos and mementos of the past.

There are two spacious sitting areas and a conservatory. Both lounges and the conservatory have ample and comfortable seating. The Home also has a large patio area to the side of the conservatory and it is regularly used in the summer months for our many summer parties and barbeques.

Our dining room is light and airy and this is where our residents are served home cooked meals of the highest standard. Alternatively, and upon request, residents may choose to dine in their own rooms. All diets are catered for and our meals are varied and cooked from fresh ingredients daily.

Our Activities Co-ordinator arranges a varied programme which is based on the physical and cognitive abilities of the residents and their likes and dislikes. Activities are carried out in either groups are on a one to one basis, depending on the needs of the resident. The activities available are broad - they can consist of physical games, quizzes, sing-songs, gardening, cooking, dancing, board games, reminiscence programmes, and outings to the coast or to the countryside. We hold film nights and have cream tea dances and have professional entertainment come into the Home each month.
