Langton House is owned by Swindon Borough Council and is managed by a full time registered Manager. It was opened in 1960 and provided care for over 50 residents. Over the past thirty years the service has developed and diversified. We now provide a service where individual needs and rights are foremost. The Home is built in extensive grounds and is situated in the village of Wroughton close to all local amenities. The bus stops just opposite the Home, with a regular service into Swindon. The accommodation now comprises of all singles room, six with en-suite facilities. We have 40 permanent beds. 12 rooms are in the Rehabilitation Unit, which include 2 long term stay beds and one high dependency respite bed. The main home has a further 28 rooms. There are two lounges on the ground floor and one on the first floor, which if needed, can be accessed by the lift. We provide a choice of menu for our service users, with specialist diets and needs catered for. Fund raising events are very well supported by local people and the majority of our staff live locally and are therefore willing to cover for emergencies. The staff are a dedicated, caring and professional team. We feel that Langton House is an extension to our own family and strive to provide a warm friendly atmosphere.

Langton House aims to provide a supported living environment where older people can feel safe, secure and free to live their lives as independently as possible. Privacy, dignity and the right to make choices are paramount in our approach to providing the highest quality service for those who choose to make Langton House their Home. The service we provide will be designed to meet the needs of each individual resident in such as to provide them with the opportunity to maintain as much control over their own lives as possible. Each service user will be recognised as a unique individual with his or her own wishes and needs. Care planning will involve the service user and, where relevant, their relatives and friends. The living environment is maintained to the highest possible standard and is designed to provide support for people who may have difficulty with mobility and other activities of daily living. Our cooks and kitchen staff will provide a varied choice of meals designed to meet the nutritional needs of older people. Menus will be changed on a regular basis and there will always be more than one choice of main course. Staff are trained to respect the rights, privacy and needs of older people. Where staff need to provide support to residents in any activity they will act in a way, which is sensitive to the privacy and dignity of the individual concerned.
