St Winifreds is a well established Home in the peaceful seaside town of Deal, the previous home to the much missed Royal Marines. We are surrounded by lots of character (including the old smugglers) and we are within easy reach of three castles, one of which is still home to the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. For anyone with plenty of energy, we are also surrounded by the highest quality golf courses, for playing or watching, as nearby Sandwich hosts some of the finest competitions.

The Home itself is close to the local beach, where our fish is freshly caught, the shopping centre with old fashioned pubs and small cobbled lanes, and of course the local train station and the buses right outside. We are also very close to our local community hospital and have a selection of local shops and pubs surrounding us. You could also enjoy the delights of crossing the channel as we are only seven miles from Dover docks.

Our Home has 55 beds, designed to meet the needs of both residential frail elderly and people over 55 with a diagnosis of Dementia. We also offer four separate lounges with comfortable easy chairs, large screen TVs, separate dining areas and well kept secure gardens. All the bedrooms are decorated with care and consideration and to a high standard. All have comfy beds, easy chairs bed side phones, TVs and nurse call systems, most of the rooms have a spacious en-suite facility. The Home also has two lifts for easy access in all areas.

Much of the Home has been purpose-built and has been designed to suit the particular needs of the resident. As with all other Nellsar Homes, St Winifreds provides meals of the highest standard served either in the dining rooms, or in resident's rooms at their request. We cater for all types of diets (vegan, diabetic, high cholesterol) and are meals are home made from local produce by our experienced staff, who also bake fresh cakes daily.

St Winifreds have entertainers who specialise in engaging people of this age group either with sing-songs, arts and crafts, bingo sessions or musical afternoons, we also have an onsite Activities Co-ordinator who works with the clients on a day-to-day basis. We also enjoy a close connection to the local school and the residents are always invited to carol concerts and nativity plays. For residents unable to venture out, the school also come to us for carol concerts.

There are many other optional services available including: a weekly Hairdresser or Barber, a Chiropodist, and a fully qualified Physiotherapist for an additional fee. Our aim is to not only to meet the care needs of our clients but also the emotional and social needs.
