Ambleside Residential Care Home is a well respected and established 21 bed Dementia care home located in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.
At Ambleside we aim to create a secure, relaxed, happy and homely environment for our residents to reside, and for our staff to work.

Our Aims: We aim to provide a high standard of care, meeting the National Minimum Standards and exceeding them whenever possible.

At Ambleside we aim to create a secure, relaxed, happy and homely environment for our residents to reside, and for our staff to work.

To treat each Resident as an individual and to respect and remember that this is their home.
    To promote rehabilitation wherever possible.
To make good use of resources available, within and outside the Home.
To maintain good staff morale, and to have an experienced and qualified staff team.
To have good rapport with family, friends and the multi-disciplinary team caring for our residents.
To promote freedom, dignity and choice.

General Care: Moving into a residential care home can be difficult for residents and their families. The staff are here to help and support the resident, and their families through this period. We are happy for residents to bring their own belongings and small items of furniture (subject to health and safety requirements).

At Ambleside we develop a Care Plan for each resident. This is a comprehensive plan of how we will manage the resident’s ongoing care whilst they are residing with us. The plan will include levels of need in various areas, risk assessments, aims and likes / dislikes.

We assign a key worker to each resident. The key worker will be an experienced member of the caring team and will be responsible for certain aspects of the Care Plan.

Care Plans are reviewed on a monthly basis. Relatives, along with the resident’s Social Worker (if appropriate), are also encouraged to become involved in the reviews.

Medical cover is provided by the resident’s own GP wherever this is possible, otherwise medical cover will be provided by the local NHS GP Practice.

Arrangements can be made for visits to, or by, a Chiropodist, Physiotherapist, Optician and other health care professionals on a regular basis or whenever required.
