Home Manger:
“Whilst we are disappointed by this outcome, we are encouraged that the key questions of ‘Caring’ and ‘Responsive’ remain rated ‘Good’.
The report’s findings are varied in terms of positives and negatives. There were some areas that were very good, and other areas that need improvement. The CQC recognised our staffs’ dedication to support residents and that they treat them with kindness and compassion and the feedback from residents and relatives on this point was heartening.
Meet the Home Manager, Martin Corrigan
Martin says, “I am delighted to be the Home Manager at Hamble Heights. The team, residents, and relatives have been incredibly welcoming. One of the most important aspects for me is focusing on what matters to our residents. Getting to know every individual and adapting our world around theirs to ensure they always feel comfortable and supported makes a huge difference.”
Martin has worked as a Home Manager for several different providers along the South Coast. He enjoys getting to know residents and learning about their life stories. He worked as a Regional Manager for two different care providers, before retiring in 2019. He returned to work in 2020 for a previous care provider to support one of their care homes through the first wave of the pandemic. Since this very challenging but rewarding experience, Martin has continued to work as an Interim Manager.
Martin lives in Bournemouth with his wife Debbie. They have a therapy dog called Peaches and a cat called Misty. They have recently bought a project house (referred to by Martin as a “wreck”!), so all of Martin’s spare time is focused on refurbishing the house.
