This purpose-built home is set in the delightful Lake District town of Kendal. Summerhill lies within large gardens, enjoys beautiful views over the surrounding hills and is within walking distance of shops.

 

The care we offer

Summerhill offers the excellent standard of care that you would expect from a Bupa home. The home comprises four suites, each providing individual care. 

Buttermere Suite specialises in nursing care for older people while Thirlmere provides residential care. Grasmere Suite offers residential and nursing care for those with dementia and Windermere supports residents with nursing dementia needs.

Care at Summerhill can be provided for short stays, including respite or for longer-term periods depending on your needs. We also provide day care, drop in care and can provide night care. We also care for those with Parkinson's Disease.

 

Food

Shortly after every resident’s arrival at Summerhill, we will discuss their diet and food preferences in detail. Our experienced chef will then cater for all their individual requirements.

Appetising meals are prepared daily, are nutritionally balanced and cooked with fresh ingredients. There are four spacious, traditional dining rooms, where residents can enjoy sociable mealtimes with other residents, or they can dine in their own room, if they wish.

 

 

Activities

Residents can take part in something enjoyable every day, whatever their interests or levels of mobility. Our team of four activity co-ordinators arrange provide a full seven-day programme of stimulating activities such as discussion groups, reminiscence sessions and quizzes. Residents can pursue existing hobbies or perhaps discover some new ones if they wish.

A variety of entertainers visit the home and we arrange frequent outings. These include trips into the lovely Lake District countryside and to local places of interest, such as Abbot Hall Museum.
