Tithe Barn and Stable Cottage supports people with learning disabilities, Autism and challenging behaviour. At Tithe Barn and Stable Cottage we are committed to providing a quality service from caring, competent and well trained staff within a homely environment. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Overview of Service

Our dedicated Multi Disciplinary Team of staff provide 24 hour support tailored to each individual's needs.

Everyone is involved in designing their own Person Centred Plan, with staff support. The plans are tailored to suit individual needs and provide the correct level of support required. They also enable all individuals to make their own choices about the support they receive. We encourage and support people to recognise and identify their goals and ambitions and how they would like to go about meeting them.

Tithe Barn and Stable Cottage promote Craegmoor's communication strategy, "Your Voice", which encourages individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to a voice at area, divisional and national level.

What It's Like to Live Here

At Tithe Barn and Stable Cottage there are a variety of ways in which people can enjoy social and educational activities, hobbies and leisure interests.

Everyone we support are encouraged through their Person Centred Plans to achieve their goals and aspirations. For some people this means attending college to access various courses, including cooking, art and daily living skills. For others it means work placements and other day opportunities in line with their goals.

Within the service some individuals enjoy spending time in the sensory rooms. Social occasions are held regularly where friends and families come to the service.

We continually and consistently promote the development of social skills, independent living and personal responsibility. This includes daily skills such as shopping, cooking, doing laundry and cleaning, and tasks are dependent upon an individual's ability. The people who live here are very proud of their home as they have so much involvement in creating it.

Surroundings

Tithe Barn and Stable Cottage are located in the attractive village of Sellack, near the historical town of Ross-On-Wye. They are surrounded by peaceful countryside and are only 10 miles from the city centre of Hereford, which boasts many leisure amenities.

Service Facilities

Tithe Barn and Stable Cottage are situated within an extensive 7 acres of land, which includes a trim trail and a sensory garden. This provides an excellent basis for the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere at the service.

Tithe Barn consists of 5 individual flats; all with a lounge area, dining room, kitchen and separate laundry facilities. Flats are available on both ground and first floor levels.

Stable Cottage supports 3 people and is situated in the grounds of Tithe Barn.

Everyone is encouraged and supported to personalise their bedrooms, to make the service as homely as possible.
