235 Rugeley Road is a registered service for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs and can also provide nursing support to individuals with significant health needs. The service has been designed to provide an environment that is fully accessible for people who use wheelchairs or have mobility/physical difficulties, whilst maximising each person’s individuality, dignity and privacy.

The service is located in Chase Terrace, Staffordshire, four miles from the cathedral city of Lichfield and within easy reach of other towns and cities. There are local shops and community facilities on our doorstep.

Our team of qualified nurses ensure that the care and support each person needs is holistically delivered. We have learning disability nurses, mental health nurses and general nurses, which means that we are able to offer all round health care to any individual who requires this. Many of the individuals who live at 235 Rugeley Road require the skills of all three areas of expertise.

Key workers and named nurses meet at least once a month with each individual to discuss support plans and needs, planned activities and health and well-being. Key workers and named nurses also attend review meetings with social workers, community nurses and relatives.

The ethos and philosophy underlying the roles we take on at 235 Rugeley Road are focussed towards maximising the potential of each individual. People living at the service are encouraged to work towards their own personal goals. In order to facilitate these goals, staff will work with each person and the people who are important to them to establish clear, concise day to day plans with clearly defined aims and objectives.

The service has hoisting equipment for those who may require it, including a portable hoist, a standing hoist and overhead tracking hoists in one bedroom and the main bathroom. A nurse call system operates from all areas of the building, meaning that people can call for assistance at any time, day or night.

We have three bedrooms on the ground floor and seven on the first floor, accessed by stairs or a lift. All rooms have en-suite facilities with either a bath or shower. We also have an activity/sensory room, a large lounge and dining room, and a lovely large private garden to the rear.

We’re proud of our achievements in supporting people to develop their independence, skills and interests.
