Gold Care Homes was established in 1999 and has since grown to operate 24 care homes, predominantly in the northern Home Counties. The group offers a range of care which includes residential, nursing, frail elderly and dementia registrations. Respite care is also available on a short term basis, subject to bed availability, at most of the homes. Recently Gold Care Homes acquired Abbey Road, Alan Morkill House, Burrows House, Lucton House, Manor House, Peregrine House, Sir Jules Thorn Court and Wood House. This brought the total number of registered beds to 1100.

Privately owned by the Gidar family, Gold Care Homes has an
established reputation of delivering high quality care in an environment which provides comfort, safety and a wide range of facilities to the residents.

An ongoing programme of investment means that all of the homes are well presented and maintained to a high decorative level.

The management focus on recruiting, training and retaining the best available staff ensures that residents enjoy the continuity of care which they would expect from a premium quality operator.

All homes are run by a General Manager, most of whom have backgrounds in nursing and administration. The General Manger is responsible for all aspects of the day to day operation of the home including the management of relationships with residents and their relatives. The General Manager has a number of key staff including a deputy who is responsible for care, and 5 further departmental heads responsible respectively for administration, catering, housekeeping, maintenance and residents activities. This management structure ensures that each home is managed and operated through short communication lines to produce a consistent standard and quality of service.
