Specialises in: Learning disability, Mental health
At Hemlington Hall we support eight people with mild learning disabilities and mental health needs.
The service is in a suburban area of Middlesbrough with good access to the town centre, either by bus or using the service vehicles. Everyone is encouraged to make use of local facilities and take part in a range of leisure activities. There are college courses available locally and people we support currently enjoy gardening and cookery courses.
We aim to support each individual to maintain and develop their skills, interests and friendships in order to live as independent a life as possible. We have two independent living flats, each with its own garden, where people can enjoy a more independent lifestyle while still having the security of staff support.
Everyone is encouraged to become involved in how the service is run through house meetings, assisting in interviews and being given the opportunity to attend service user forums.
The six large bedrooms all have en-suite facilities and the shared areas include a sensory room and a garden with patio areas. One of the bedrooms is wheelchair accessible.
